Ghostwriting Services

How does ghostwriting work?

As a professional writer I offer a range of services, from creating a book proposal to working on your private commission. I have worked with clients across the world, from billionaires to businesspeople, from celebrities to leading experts.

The process of ghostwriting is simple. The average memoir length is around 70,000 words. I usually interview clients for around 20 hours per book (sometimes this takes longer, sometimes less!). Sometimes I do extra research or use other resources such as diaries or other notes. Then the job of turning this information into a page-turner begins…

Usually it takes around three to six months to write a manuscript. I offer two rounds of edits before it is ready to go to a publisher, agent or be self-published.

Every book is unique, therefore every client has unique needs. As a ghostwriter with a proven track record my aim is to make your book a bestseller.

Book Proposals

A book proposal is a vital pitch document, aimed at telling publishers what your book is about and why they should be interested. It usually includes a synopsis (a short version of what’s in the book), a chapter breakdown (a full description of what each chapter will contain) and a persuasive summing up of the book’s USP (its unique selling point). Working together, we conduct interviews, review information and develop the overall story. I then write a sample chapter, to create the right tone and voice for your story. Once everything is together I produce an appropriate proposal to be sent to the publishers.

Private Commission

Sometimes the act of telling your story is more important than getting a traditional publishing deal. I have worked on fascinating private commissions where the goal to create a great book is first and foremost. The whole process is the same as producing a traditional published book. We work together and I will write a professionally written manuscript.

Manuscript Review

You’ve written your book! Congratulations. What a brilliant achievement. But if there’s something stopping you from taking it any further it could need editing. By reviewing your manuscript I can explain the strengths and weaknesses of what you’ve written, and guide you towards your next steps. The result is always to make your book even better.
